21 October 2025 Call for Decade Actions no.10 now open!
From the 2025 UN Ocean Conference to the BBNJ Agreement, 2025 has been marked by increased cooperation for a sustainable ocean.
Building on this momentum, this Call for Decade Actions is open to initiatives that enhance the science-policy-society nexus, translating scientific evidence into policies for sustainable ocean management and community wellbeing.
Partners are invited to request endorsement under the Ocean Decade for transformative Decade Actions, rooted in the priorities outlined in the Barcelona Statement and that contribute to the Ocean Decade vision.
This Decade Call consists of three different parts:
1. Decade Programmes
Submission of Expression of interest for Decade programme outlining:
- How the Programme addresses the Decade Challenges, in line with the Barcelona Statement and Vision 2030 process
- How it plans to collaborate with other endorsed Decade Programmes
- How the science and knowledge generated will support decision-making and contribute to sustainable development
Selected applicants will then be invited to submit a full Programme proposal.

2. Decade Projects
At the project level, 23 endorsed Decade Programmes are inviting submissions for Decade Projects. Please see the Guidance Note for Applicants for the full list.

3. Decade Contributions
The Call is soliciting submissions of financial or in-kind resources to support the Ocean Decade and/or Decade Actions. Please see the Guidance Note for Applicants for more information.
